Welcome to Peterborough Local Safeguarding Children Board (LSCB)’s website.
The Peterborough Safeguarding Children Board (PSCB) was set up in October 2005, and brings together all the main agencies who work with children and families in Peterborough, with the aim of ensuring that they work together effectively to keep children safe.
The core legislation underpinning the work of the PSCB is the Children Act 1989 and the Children Act 2004. The PSCB’s objectives, as set out in Working Together to Safeguard Children 2015, are:
- to co-ordinate the work of agencies to safeguard children and promote the welfare of children within Peterborough
- to ensure the effectiveness of safeguarding children in Peterborough
Safeguarding children is everybody’s responsibility and so our purpose is to make sure that all children and young people in our city are protected from abuse and neglect. Children can only be safeguarded from harm if agencies work well together, follow procedures and guidance based on best practice and are well informed and trained. In addition we want to make sure parents, children and young people and professionals have easy access to information about a broad range of child safety issues.
We hope that this website is useful to anyone who wants information about the Board’s work and how we are “Keeping Children Safe Together”.
